Priyanka Chopra To Play Amrita Pritam In Biopic Gustaakhiyaan



Priyanka Chopra seems to me on a roll. The 'Mary Kom' star seems to be every director's favourite when it comes to portraying female protagonist on screen. The latest role Priyanka will plan is that of Sahir Ludhianvi's love interest in his biopic.

The actress will play the character of literary giant Amrita Pritam, who was the love interest of well known poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi.

The working title of the biopic is Gustaakhiyaan.

Ever since the project was announced Bollywood has been speculating as to who would play the role of Amrita. Actor Irrfan Khan will portray the poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi in the biopic.

Now reports have confirmed that Priyanka has agreed to play the role in the upcoming film.

Ashi Dua is directing the film. The director believes that Priyanka Chopra is the perfect choice for Amrita's role.

Apparently Amrita Pritam had an unrequited love for poet-lyrist Sahir Ludhianvi. Her affection for Ludhianvi is said to be depicted in the autobiography Rasidi Ticket by Amrita Pritam.

August 15 may turn out to be a clash of mega movie trailers. Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year trailer and Aamir Khan's PK trailer releasing on the same day, according to reports. Apparently, Ajay Devgn's Singham Returns will also release on the same day.

Both Aamir and SRK have plans of mega launch for their respective movie trailers. The competition gets steeper after the mega box office collection of their last films. Shahrukh's last film Chennai Express and Aamir's Dhoom 3 had been mega grossers at the box office. So both the superstars have big plans for the trailers of their respective films.

SRK's Happy New Year will release on October 23. While Aamir's PK will hit theatres on December 18. We are eagerly waiting what Aamir and SRK have to offer this time.

In 2008, Shah Rukh's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi had released on December 12, while Aamir's Ghajini was due for Christmas release. Aamir had launched the Ghajini hairstyle which had become a rage with fans. Lets see what Aamir Khan has up his sleeves this time.

Ex-flames Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are shooting for Imtiaz Ali's next, titled 'Tamasha', far away in Corsica in South of France. The movie has just begun and stills and videos of happenings on the sets have already started to trickle in the web in a big, big way.

In their latest leaked video, one can see the Ranbir and Deepika rehearsing a 'nagin' dance sequence together. What, a nagin dance, really?

Well, yes. From what is seen in the video, a very pretty Deepika, dressed in navy blue dress and Ranbir cloaked in a jacket, trouser and shirt are moving serpentinely to the tunes of what seems to be a nagin song.



The duo was last seen together in Ayan Mukerji's ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.

In a formerly leaked video, Deepika was seen dressed in all white lace dress and a floral wreath on her hand. Ranbir, on the other hand, was seen acting in front of a huge gathering.

Call it a publicity gimmick or whatever you may, the leaked videos on the upcoming film is indeed a fool-proof way to pique audience's interest on the same.

Is she or isn't she? That is the question in everybody's mind ever since the newly wed Rani Mukerji made her grand guest appearance on the TV dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'.

Not only did a radiant looking Rani, looking every bit like a diva in a Sabyasachi anarkali, arrive late on the set, insisting that she got held up at a doctor's clinic where she had gone to get herself checked for a flu, but also looked slightly heavy on the midriff (maybe, a burgeoning baby bump), fueling speculations that a YRF heir might be well on its way.

What's more eyebrow raising is that all the three 'Jhalak' judges went out of their way to take special care of her during the shoot, heeding to her needs, helping her climb the stairs and even propping a cushion on her seat to help rest her back.

And if all that isn't enough a testimony, listen to this. In a recent interview, Rani had expressed her desire to start a family soon.



"Of course, as that is why we are married. And I want to expect soon. Every woman is born to procreate and God has given us that magic power to bring another human being into the world. So, why should we not use that and play God for once."

"Adi always teases me, 'You are born to become a mother. You should have had babies when you were born only.' So yes, I am completely looking forward to becoming a mother. But movies is my first love and that is what has given me confidence and a say in this world. It has also given me a big family in the film industry and today I am married into a family that has only made love stories. I have a lot to be thankful for. And I definitely feel that whenever I will get a good script, I will work," she further said. Now this one is straight from the horse's mouth.

Also, given that the outgoing Rani has been shying away from posing for the shutterbugs post-wedding, much like her elusive husband Aditya Chopra, has been spotted mostly in full-sleeved loose anarkalis and has no movie in the pipeline post 'Mardani' are good enough indications that Rani and Aditya Chopra could well be on their family way.

As the hard-hitting 2 minutes and 54 seconds teaser of 'Mary Kom' hits the web, the world seems to be going gaga over Priyanka Chopra's power-packed portrayal of the Manipuri women athlete. We can't help but take notice PeeCee's deglam, athletic avatar, where she totally stuns with her physique, roughness, and act and packs in the right punches.

Directed by Omung Kumar and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion pictures, the biopic is slated to hit the theaters on September 5, 2014. But before that, the movie will world premiere in the esteemed Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) that kickstarts on September 4.

From traditional village life in remote Manipur state to high-stakes bouts in India and around the world, this is a remarkable story of triumph. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF.''

Nargis Fakhri has an item number in Salman Khan's 'Kick'. The actress was left bruised and injured while shooting the item song 'Devil' for the action thriller. But the 'Rockstar' actress is not complaining, rather she says the experience was exhilarating.

The track was really a 'devil of a song' says Nargis.

Yo Yo Honey Singh composed the 'Devil' song for Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kick'. This is the first time that Honey Singh has composed for Salman Khan after the "Lungi dance" track for "Chennai Express" staring Shah Rukh Khan.

Nargis admits being injured while dancing to Honey Singh's energetic beats. But she's not complaining.

The actress says that 'Devil' was a special song and she likes Honey Singh's numbers. That made it all the more exciting. Besides she feels blessed to have danced with Salman Khan. So the minor injuries are ok.

Shooting the song was stressful, says Nargis. The actress says before dancing she gets nervous, as she not comfortable with gyrations and thrusts. Her whole physical presence becomes tensed, says Nargis.

While shooting the special song with Salman, Nargis had a torn meniscus, a torn ham-string and two inflamed discs. Nargis says that while dancing she had a lot of pain. But Ahmed Khan's choreography inspired her to push herself. The actress is now recuperating at home.

However, dancing with Salman was worth the pain, says Nargis.
