Salman Khans Kick superhit In Pakistan



Salman Khan's 'Kick' has not only earned big revenue in the Indian market, but also in the neighbouring country Pakistan. The Eid release film is a superhit in Pakistan and turned out to be the highest holiday grosser in that country.

'Kick' box office collection in Pakistan is estimated to be over Rs 20.8 million.

Karachi's Ghalib cinema, located in Korangi area, has not seen such profit for years. Muhammad Ashraf, manager of Ghalib says he had to arrange for morning shows after seeing the increasing number of audience and the huge demand for tickets.

Even in the heydays of Pakistani films the theatre did not earn such figures like now, says Ashraf. The film has been earning Rs 65 to 70,000 per show on an average on the blockbuster 'Kick', added Ashraf.

The figures earned at the Ghalib cinema are historic as the theatre has only one screen and the seating arrangements are not very comfortable. But people have thronged the theatre since Eid and all shows are running house full.

Pakistan's well known exhibitor and distributor, Nadeem Mandviwalla says multiplexes and cineplexes get major share of the business as they have several shows in a day, besides the high ticket prices. But Salman's 'Kick' has been a blessing for single screen owners as reports suggest that they are doing good business.

Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick was released in 58 screens across Karachi on Eid. The film stars Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.

After reports of Salman Khan signing for Karan Johar's Shuddhi, media is buzz with another gossip. The latest report in Bollywood indicate that Karan Johar has signed Aamir Khan for an upcoming project.

Bollywood is buzz with speculations that Karan Johar has finally convinced Aamir to work on a Dharma Productions project. Earlier KJo had reportedly approached Aamir for his ambitious film Shuddhi.

The final project between Dharma and Aamir will be as per the actor's preference and comfort. Aamir has agreed to do the project at a whopping fee of Rs.150 crore. Earlier there were reports of Salman Khan signing the deal for Shuddhi at Rs.150 crore.

Seems all is not well between Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, who has never worked with the other two Khans before. The last time KJo and SRK were seen together was in 2010, when the duo worked together in My Name Is Khan.

The last season of Koffee With Karan, also didn't feature SRK, while Salman and Aamir made their debut on the couch with the director-producer.

Salman Khan seems to have become the highest paid actor in Bollywood. The 'Kick' star will be paid a whopping remuneration for Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi', according to reports.

Salman will be paid Rs.150 crore for 'Shuddhi'. The jaw dropping remuneration has left us amazed. Salman never fails to surprise – first there was news about him signing 'Shuddhi' after so many speculations about the lead actors and now his staggering remuneration.

According to reports, Salman said he wanted the first week's worldwide collection as part of his fee. Secondly, he was to be given 40 % of the satellite rights of Shuddhi. And out of the total profits from Shuddhi, Salman will get 20 %, while Dharma Productions will get the rest 80 %.

The total fee adds upto a whopping Rs.150 crores.

However, trade analyst Taran Adarsh was not convinced that Salman would be taking home the quoted amount. Adarsh says the fee is secretly worked up between the producer and the actor. He feels Rs. 150 crore sounds a bit too high.

Nargis Fakhri has an item number in Salman Khan's 'Kick'. The actress was left bruised and injured while shooting the item song 'Devil' for the action thriller. But the 'Rockstar' actress is not complaining, rather she says the experience was exhilarating.

The track was really a 'devil of a song' says Nargis.

Yo Yo Honey Singh composed the 'Devil' song for Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kick'. This is the first time that Honey Singh has composed for Salman Khan after the "Lungi dance" track for "Chennai Express" staring Shah Rukh Khan.

Nargis admits being injured while dancing to Honey Singh's energetic beats. But she's not complaining.

The actress says that 'Devil' was a special song and she likes Honey Singh's numbers. That made it all the more exciting. Besides she feels blessed to have danced with Salman Khan. So the minor injuries are ok.

Shooting the song was stressful, says Nargis. The actress says before dancing she gets nervous, as she not comfortable with gyrations and thrusts. Her whole physical presence becomes tensed, says Nargis.

While shooting the special song with Salman, Nargis had a torn meniscus, a torn ham-string and two inflamed discs. Nargis says that while dancing she had a lot of pain. But Ahmed Khan's choreography inspired her to push herself. The actress is now recuperating at home.

However, dancing with Salman was worth the pain, says Nargis.

Salman Khan fans will have to shell out more to watch his film 'Kick'. The cost of tickets for Kick will be up by 15 to 20 %. So if you have plans to watch the action thriller then be prepared to pay more.

Kick will release during the Eid festival. And the exhibitors hope to gain from the season.

Salman's Kick is not the first film with hiked ticket prices. Earlier, big ticket films like Salman's Ek Tha Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Chennai Express, Aamir Khan's Talaash and Dhoom 3 and Ajay Devgn's Son Of Sardaar had higher ticket prices

However, the morning show ticket prices will remain unchanged.

Kick stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Randeep Hooda. The film will hit theatres on 25th July.
