Singham Returns Faces Ban

Singham Returns Faces Ban

Singham Returns faces ban?

Rohit Shetty's 'Singham Returns' could be banned prior to its Independence Day release. A right-wing Hindu organisation has petitioned the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to impose a ban on the Ajay Devgn starrer.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has protested against certain scenes in 'Singham Returns'. The HJS has written to CBFC saying that has objection to depicting Hindu saints in a bad light, as it hurts the religious sentiment of the community.

'Singham Returns' trailer shows a Hindu saint as a 'villain', said HJS National Secretary Ramesh Shinde.

Actor Ajay Devgn, who is a police officer in the film, is shown talking of hitting the saint. Besides, the clip shows the actor praying at a mosque in uniform, and even saluting a Muslim priest. The film will give a wrong impression to audience about the Hindu religion.

Shinde says the HJS will demonstrate all over the country if the scenes defaming a Hindu saint are not cut by the producer.

Shot in Goa, Hyderabad and Mumbai, 'Singham Returns' stars Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles.
